MORE ABOUT ME
Committed to Excellence
Throughout the years, I’ve earned a reputation for being one of the most knowledgeable fire life-safety and security professionals in the industry. I've sold and designed systems for high-rises, tunnels, airports, atriums, and data centers. Each project has a unique set of variables to account for and obstacles to overcome.
Whether you’re an owner and need assistance in a pre-permit conference or an electrical contractor requiring bid leveling or an integrator bringing a new sales person up to speed, I can help.
Give me a call to see how Slabaugh Consulting can bring you value.

PREVIOUS PROJECT TYPES
Nothing Replaces Experience
CORPORATE CAMPUSES
Amazon's corporate headquarters including Blocks 14, 19, 20, 21 and the Block 19 Spheres.
Facebook's Seattle offices include 1101 Dexter, 1101 Westlake, and Arbor Blocks, all projects I sold, designed, and managed.
CIVIL INFRASTRUCTURE
SR-99 Seattle Waterfront Tunnel was the first of its kind and required new and innovative means of detection and control systems.

I-90 Mount Baker and Mercer Island Tunnels were updated to allow for Sound Transit use of the center lane. This project required further advancement in detection systems to limit fire spread.
COMMERCIAL HIGH-RISES
During my career I've sold and designed over 25 commercial high-rises in Seattle, Bellevue, Renton, and Tacoma. Smoke control, mechanical interfaces, and architectural challenges such as atriums are some of the challenges involved in this type of project.

Early participation in 403 meetings, Conceptual Smoke Control submittal processes, and design team interaction saves time, money, and coordination efforts.

Examples:
-Hawk Tower (255 S King) -95th & Jackson
-Southport Office Bldgs -3rd & Lenora
-Troy Block (300 Boren) -Hill 7 (1099 Stewart)
-Tilt 49 (1812 Boren) -Midtown 21 (1007 Stewart)
-Rainier Square (1333 5th Ave)
RESIDENTIAL HIGH-RISES
Engagement on residential high-rises present the opportunity to assist with fire-life safety, security, and communications systems. Fire life-safety is typically a code minimum approach, while security and communications require a consultative approach with building owners and operators to understand their approach to resident access and security.

Examples:
-Tower 12 (2015 2nd) -Cielo (802 Seneca)
-Cirrus (2030 8th) -Stratus (9th & Lenora)
-2nd & Pike -1321 Seneca
-188 Bellevue -Kinects Tower (1823 Minor)
-Tilt 49 (1812 Boren)
SYSTEM RETROFITS
System retrofits require a level of research and coordination not typical to new construction. On-site system surveys, understanding of existing infrastructure, product limitations, and system interfaces are paramount to a successful project. Coordination to maintain system functionality during the construction phase and communication with the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) for commissioning are key factors to proper execution.

Examples:
-Blanchard Plaza (2201 6th) -1800 Ninth
-Rainier Tower (1301 5th) -IDX Tower (4th & Madison)
-Roosevelt Hotel (1531 7th) -1124 Columbia
-Century Link Field -T-Mobile Park
